Voted against banning toxic TCE. [1]

On May 24, 2019 an amendment was offered to the senate’s final 2019 Environment Omnibus Bill to phase out Trichloroethylene (TCE) for most industrial uses in Minnesota. The amendment failed 30 to 36.

TCE is used as an industrial solvent used in approximately 80 facilities across the state. It is a known human carcinogen and developmental toxin. The human health concerns of TCE were brought to the forefront in spring of 2019 when the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency discovered a White Bear Lake company had been releasing TCE into the air at unsafe levels since 2009.
