The newest member of the Conservation Minnesota Family, Anna Richey joins the team after a decade spent in the trenches on political campaigns around the state. She will be serving as the regional manager for Southern Minnesota, which means she will be working with community leaders and people who want to protect Minnesota’s Great Outdoors throughout the region.
A St. Paul native who currently calls Rochester home, Anna is a graduate of the oldest private college in Ohio, Kenyon College. Her perfect day in Minnesota would include a book, a coffee, a lake and a fishing pole. She describes the first two items on that list, along with music, as being security blankets that are essential for her overall happiness. And when it comes to travels, Anna has taken second place among staff members with visits to all 48 of the contiguous United States. While the executive director’s Hawaiian honeymoon gives him a one state lead, Anna and Paul are in a head-to-head battle to see who reaches Alaska first.
Anna’s favorite place in Minnesota: Savanna Portage State Park
Anna Richey Fun Fact: Growing up she was never a fan of sweets, so when others would order dessert at restaurants, she would try and fit in by ordering another salad.
