Transportation is the number one contributor of greenhouse gas emissions in Minnesota. And with our state’s population increasing by one million residents in the next 20 years, Minnesota needs a comprehensive and dependable transportation funding package. And a plan to help reduce congestion and in turn protect our quality of life.
Investment in transportation can also have economic benefits. A recent report, published in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal shows that for every dollar invested in transit, Twin Cities gets $2.90 in benefits.
The Governor’s plan for transportation will employ thousands of workers via new construction projects, modernize our transportation system by fixing our crumbling roads and bridges, and support local transit solutions for cities and counties.
